ABOUT Winner:
Amyn Nasser is among the world’s leading photographers. He is a self-taught visualist from Zanzibar, shooting Fine Art, Editorial, Fashion, Celebrities, Advertising, Travel and Nudes. His work has graced the covers and editorial pages of the finest magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Cosmopolitan, as well as prestigious advertising campaigns. He has also been sought for international field mission photography in several African countries. He has travelled to many parts of the world and is experienced in the mannerisms needed to get his image. “I believe in the photographer’s magic, the ability to stir the soul with light and shape and color. Through the photographer’s eyes a kiss becomes a romance, a stretch of fabric is a costume of endless possibilities, ...a face has the playful vibrancy that describes a lifetime... I strive for a visual split second capture that tells a story with mood, style, motion, and mystery by creating powerful color, and striking black & white images. My juxtaposed vision is very much influenced by the East-West culture that I have grown up with.” From Iman to Claudia, Helena to Amber, in Paris or New York, to the Masaii in East Africa, people in Zanzibar or the Sahara Desert, BMW to Volvo and Husky Energy, Amyn’s drive for results and the understanding of the business have ensured him successes of over two decades in each endeavor undertaken. Amyn’s achievements are due largely to his flexible, dynamic, creative style. He is innovative, resourceful and enjoys the challenge of creating contemporary images with dynamic visual stories that speak effectively of the cultural context. “I am a fast shooter and a dependable photographer with well focused priorities.”
